We need certain information to provide our services to you. For example, you must have an account in order to create or join activities on Hummed.
When you register for the account, you are asked to provide your first and last names. When you join activities other participants would benefit of knowing your name; we believe this is their legitimate interest.
We use your email address as part of allowing you access to your account, and in order to contact you with important information about changes to your account. For example, we will send you an email when you reset or change your password, or when we must notify you about changes to our services or policies.
You may also opt in for other email notifications such as when activity was shared with the crowd where you are the member. You can always unsubscribe from such notifications.
We will not use your email address for marketing. Your email address is not publicly visible.
When you set a password for your Hummed account, we use technology that masks it so no one at the company can see it. We mask passwords through a process called hashing using a function known as bcrypt, which replaces the actual password with a random set of numbers and letters that are stored in the system. This allows our systems to validate your account credentials without revealing your password. This is an industry standard.
When you join the crowds or participate in activities, this data, together with activity type, name, its location (and other information such as date and time) is publicly visible on the website.
We collect information about how you use our service, such as the crowds you are member of; activities you participated in; the types of content you view or engage with; the features you use; the actions you take; the people or accounts you interact with.
We also receive and analyze content, communications and information that other people provide when they use our service. This can include information about you, such as when others share activity with the crowd where you are the member or add you to the activity.
If you have registered an account on Hummed, we provide you with tools and account settings to access, correct, delete, or modify the personal data you provided to us and associated with your account. You can also request correction, deletion, or modification of your personal data by sending an email to firstname.lastname@example.org.
Personal data, such as email address, that you share with us, is not shared with any third party company. Public information, such as crowds that you belong to or activities that you participated in, currently are not shared with any third party company, however this may change in future and we will notify you about it in advance.
We keep personal data provided in your account as long as account exists.
We take reasonable measures to help protect information about you from loss, theft, misuse and unauthorized access, disclosure, alteration, and destruction.
